The story so far....

In May last year Palmers Brewery gave formal notification of their decision to close the New Inn after John and Jean terminated their tenancy taking effect from October.

During that time representatives of the Village Society and the Parish Council were exploring ways of keeping the pub open. Various options were discussed with Palmers but in their view the pub was not financially viable and would still close.

However, Palmers indicated that they were prepared to lease the Pub to the village and give us a chance to make it viable. If the village were to support these terms for leasing then some alteration to the pub would be required before it was re-opened.

Negotiations over the terms of a possible lease took place and The New Inn Support group was formed.

To date, The New Inn support group has raised over £12000 through its own fundraising. Plans are now well underway to get the pub re-opened and back serving the village and its visitors.
